Family Events Around The Nation In 2013 includes Fairs, Festivals, Shows and Other Fun Days Out

Fun Events Around The Nation, due to the low number of visitors and the work that is required to keep "Fairs and Fun" updated on a weekly basis ( 12 to 50 hours per week depending on the time of year), and that it also appears that weekly updates negativly affect our visitor numbers, due to this we are taking a haitus on weekly updates and will only be updating monthly or fortnightly to decide where we are going with the site long term ( sorry Steve )


To Offer an idea of the scale of work required I have over 3,500 events in my Database for April which we will be checking and adding to the site over the next couple of weeks, they need to be checked for this years dates, Website Correct, No Longer running, Because webmasters do not update frequently the chances are that I will need to check a high percentage a second time 2 weeks before the event is due to take place. ETC. ETC. just doing April Events is over 35 hours work including listing them on the website, This is in addition to the 100's of events that are submitted each month for inclusion, when you combine that with only recieving 600 or so visitors per day it is hard to decide if the hours and effort required is worth it.
Before SEO companies and experts contact me telling me they can get me to the top of the Search Results, I can tell you now NOT INTERESTED Search Engines have made many statements to the effect "We will always ensure quality content is listed first" , for "FairsandFun.com" this can mean 1 of 3 things
1. The content is not worthy to be listed on the first page and not what visitors want or need
2. Search Engines have not quite matched what they wish to achieve with actual results,
3. Other sites offer a better user experience
I know I could do a number of things with the site that would increase the traffic but they would not match my personal goals which were to provide an easy to see single page listing of events in each state and if things do not improve by the end of the year I will close the site down rather than play SEO games to .
