July 22nd to 31st
Lancaster
Festival
The Lancaster Festival states that they believe that the arts should be used
to express the essence of what it means to be fully
human, and celebrates the artistic creativity of all cultures. The Lancaster
Festival was inaugurated in 1985 from the Picnic and
Pops concert that took place at the Ohio University-Lancaster the previous year.
The Lancaster Festival Orchestra performed
its first concert on Saturday, July 23, 1988 with Glinka's 'Overture to Russlan
& Ludmilla'. This year’s Festival will include
everything from the Classical Mystery Tour (a Beatles tribute band) and Olga
Kern’s renditions of Rachmaninoff, Chopin,
Berlioz and Resphigi. A full note of the festival’s contents can be found
