Benefit Bluegrass Concert & Jam Series
Every Friday in July beginning at 7:00 PM, the Union Mills Learning
Center will have a Bluegrass concert and jam session in the auditorium. $5 admission at the door per person. Proceeds will go to helping keep the Center open and functioning to serve the community. Dixie Moon Bluegrass, of Forest City, will host each week and will head up a jam session open to all. Inviting musicians, food vendors, and local artisans to be a part of this series. Folkmoot USA
Folkmoot USA is the two-week international festival of folk music in North Carolina
that celebrates of the world's cultural
heritage through music and dance. Invitations have gone out to performers from
each continent. Held in the beautiful mountains
of Western North Carolina, Folkmoot will also feature a Parade of Nations on
July 23rd and the Folkmoot 5K Run and Kid's
Fun Run on July 31st. The International Festival Day will also be on July 31st

Festival
Murfreesboro’s 25th anniversary Watermelon Festival will have the state’s
largest watermelon contest, and a variety of
entertainments that will include an antiques craft fair, amusement rides, food,
street dancing and watermelon games. A 5K
run/walk, bingo and evening performances by the Hot Cakes, Moon Shine, the Cross
Cut and Double Edge Bands will be
other events that take place. The Festival’s schedule and hotels are at

Stowe Park’s Summer Celebrations will opening on Friday evening, and continuing
throughout the day on Saturday. Saturday
evening’s band will be the Center City Groove Band and will start at 7pm.
The festival’s fireworks begin at 9.30pm. Advice on
Belmont’s communal facilities can be found at the J. Paul Ford Recreation
Center, which is on East Woodrow Avenue.

'ShineFest’s stage shows will include a mix of country, bluegrass, rock
and blues music, with performances by Rafe Hollister,
Carolina Still, Whitey Morgan and the 78’s and the Deadstring Brothers.
You can tour the only legal moonshine distillery and
see some of North Carolina’s most prestigious craftsmen and artists’
work. You will also be able to Watch Red Dirt Rising: an
independent film celebrating moonshine and its role in the birth of auto racing.

Ola Belle Reed Festival
The Ola Belle Reed Music Festival is three days of Americana, Bluegrass, Old-time, Country music and camping, celebrating the life and music of this remarkable woman in the locale where her life's journey began, the small community of Lansing, along the New River in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. This year's lineup includes The Mosier Brothers, Big Daddy Love, Aaron Lee Tasjan, Curley Maple and many more. Admission is free, but donations are welcome.
