We believe this year’s Yankee Homecoming will be an event where families, friends, neighbors and visitors can "Come Together" and enjoy all of the festivities. It’s always easy to listen to all the negative news we seem to hear every day and I realize this is the world we live in. What I’d like to suggest is that for the eight days of Yankee Homecoming all of you walk around the beautiful City of Newburyport, think back to 53 years ago when Yankee Homecoming started and the world seemed to be a lot simpler, and just enjoy yourself. If we collectively walk around with a smile I am convinced we will make a positive difference. Say Hi to someone and let’s all "Come Together". I encourage you to visit the various events we have planned which are listed herein on our website. There is something for everyone - whether you are a shopper, runner, eater or listener, its here for you to participate and enjoy.

The Crescent Yacht Club and the South Shore Outboard Association are teaming up to bring Hydroplane and Runabout Boat Racing back to Haverhill this summer. The event is sanctioned by the American Power Boat Association; the Official Power Boat Racing Organization in the United States. Racers throughout the Eastern United States and Canada are competing for 2010 National Points. Over eighty boats are expected to compete in this fun Family event. New England’s only marathon race – the Northeast Regional Championship race will be held on Saturday. Racing will take place between Noon and 5:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. The starting line is in front of the Buttonwoods Museum on Water Street. Racers will launch at the Crescent Yacht Club and the public is welcome to view the boats and meet the racers. There will also be a cookout open to the public. Spectator viewing is available at the Crescent Yacht Club and the Buttonwoods Trail. info@HaverhillRIverRun.com
