All parades are free to watch and there is also a festival on Mardi Gras weekend (Feb 12-16 )which features live bands on the sound stage, rides and games on the carnival midway, Cajun and Zydeco food and live music . Admission is free to the festival but parking is $10.00. The Mardi Gras Association Pageant and Ball opens its pomp and splendor to the public free of charge Mardi Gras night, but you need to still get tickets at the Heymann Center Box Office..

Church Point Mardi Gras, Activities will include arts and crafts show, Gumbo Cook Off, Childrens and Adult Mardi Gras Parade, live music from Main Street Band, Brass Monkey's, Geno Delafosse and Dustin Ray Southern Groove. The Courir de Mardi Gras Parade will depart from the Saddle Tramp Clubhouse visiting the festival grounds and ending at the Community Center.

Mardi Gras New Orleans, When you think of New Orleans Mardi Gras and the French Quarter quickly comes to mind , Mardi Gras, or "Fat Tuesday", is the last day of feasting before Lent begins on Ash Wednesday. The history of Mardi Gras dates back even before this with some of the earliest Mardi Gras parades held in "Fort Louis de la Louisiane" (which is now Mobile) in the early 1700's . So what is Mardi Gras now ? a day dedicated to parades , costumes and parties attracting up to 1 million people to the city of New Orleans. What many do not realize is that there are other towns and cities who also hold Mardi Gras Celebrations on different days including Lafayette and Church Point.

Mardi Gras Folklife Festival featuring Tee Mamou Courir de Mardi Gras riding through town in the Mardi Gras wagon. During the day traditional Cajun and Zydeco bands play on the main stage with traditional arts and crafts featuring Mardi Gras items including Mardi Gras Capuchons, Masks, and Suits, Swamp Craft, Pirogue Baskets and Mardi Gras Dolls. Food venders include traditional Cajun foods including Bread Pudding w/ Praline Sauce, Fried Alligator, Crawfish Etouffee' and Po Boys keeping the traditions pnd customs alive as a traditional Mardi Gras Celebration.
