During the month of april communities come together in eastern Washington and northern Idaho to join the Inland Northwest Chapter of the National MS Society with the goal to raise support for friends and families touched by multiple sclerosis. That support comes in the form of participating in one of the Walk MS events....the Chapters largest fundraiser. Walk MS is a simple but incredibly powerful way to stand together and be together to help people with MS move their lives forward. You can join the movement in a city near you!

Each walk is accessible or has an accessible route so that walkers of all ages and abilities can join the movement. Because every movement you make and every dollar you raise supports the mission to create a world free of MS.
Because
Nultiple sclerosis is a devastating, neurological disease of the central nervous system.
It’s chronic symptoms are unpredicatable and often disabling. The damage is irreparable.
Twice as many woman as men have MS and most symptoms occur between age 20 and 50 years of age.
The inland Northwest has one of the highest reates of MS in the United States and in the world.
Nationwide, approximately 400,000 Americans have MS.
Every week about 200 people are diagnosed with MS.
Every hour of everyday someone is diagnosed with MS.

The Inland Northwest Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is having its 7th annual Bike MS Ride. On September 8th and 9th 2012, our chapter will challenge cyclists to 150 mile in order to raise money to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis. The Inland Northwest has one of the highest incidence rates of multple sclerosis in the world, so this two day, 150 mile challenge will reward and challenge you like no other cycling event. Bike MS invites you on an unforgettable journey through the scenic routes and spectacular fall foliage of the Northwest. This tour on the " Trails of the Coeur d' Alenes" is fully equipped with rest stops every 12-15 miles, bike mechanics, medical support, cartered meals, and a Saturday Night Celebration.
The Bike MS is presented by the Coeur D' Alene Casino Resort - Hotel - celebrate conquering the course by trying your luck in the casino or regenerating in the pool on Saturday night. Bike MS cyclists are given a discounted rate at the Casino for the night. There is a $ 50 registration fee and a minimum of $ 200 in pledges per cyclist which earns you a collectible Bike MS Long Sleeve T- shirt and a terrific prizes for going beyound the minimum. You can ride as an individule or as part of a team. Greatness comes from putting aside the reasons why you can't ride to find the reasons why you can. Meet the challenge! Cycle 150 miles in two days. Bike MS is scheduled for September 8th & 9th on the ’ Trails of the Coeur d’ Alenes.’ Enjoy the spectacular fall foliage as you travel the historical Union Pacific rail beds along lakes, over the 3100’ long railroad bridge and through the ancestral lands of the Coeur d’ Alene Nation. This tour is fully equipped with three meals each day, rest stops ever 12 -15 miles, bike mechanics, medical supporth and Saturday Night Celebration. The $ 50 registration fee and $ 200 minimum pledge ears you Bike MS Long Tee and terrific prizes. Minimum age to ride is 12 years old and their parent/guardian must accompany them along the ride.
