Eatonton Georgia is about an hour drive East of Atlanta and is home to famous authors such as Alice Walker (The Color Purple) and Joel Chandler Harris (Uncle Remus) as well as 2008 Gold Medal Olympian Vince Hancock. Eatonton part of the Antebellum Trail and also has the 4-H center Rock Eagle. Rock Eagle’s effigy dates back to 900-1500 AD.
