Florida Warbirds, EAA Warbird Squadron 24 announces the 3rd Annual Warbird Weekend, February 25-26, 2012, at the Punta Gorda Airport in Punta Gorda, FL. The event will feature a Static Warbird Display and flyovers.
The Static Display of Warbirds will be on display from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26. Admission is an $8 donation per person or $15 per family (adult/children), per day. Visitors can view a large variety of Warbird Aircraft such as B-25, C-45, P-51 Mustang, TBM-Avenger, Yak-9, PT-17, BT-13/15, T-6, T-28, T-34, O-2, DeHavilland Chipmunk. Food and drinks will be available for purchase from EAA Chapter 565.
Rides in the B-25 Mitchell, T-6 Texan, and PT-17 Stearman will be available. Cost of the rides will be determined at a later date. Call (941) 639-6188 to reserve a seat.
Warbird Weekend is a fundraiser with proceeds benefiting organizations such as the Wounded Warrior Project and the Veteran’s Airlift Command with portions remaining within Charlotte County.

Observe Museum scientists preparing fossils from the field and explore questions about evolution, extinction and early life on Earth. See the horned dinosaur Triceratops horridus, a T. rex skull, a giant ammonite and more. Cruisin’ the Fossil Freeway was organized by the Burke Museum at the University of Washington. Local support provided by the Toomey Foundation for the Natural Sciences, Inc. Admission is $5 for adults $4.50 for Fla. residents, seniors and college students $4 for ages 3 to 17 Free for members and children 2 and under.
