This year’s Southwest Wings Birding and Nature Festival will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Sierra Vista. Lying at
the foot of the Huachuca Mountains, and minutes away from some of the most famous birding spots in the United States Sierra
Vista gives good access to the San Pedro River, Garden, Sawmill Huachuca, Ramsey, Carr, Miller and Ash Canyons. These
are bird spotter’s paradise, and this year’s events will include a talk by one of the most prominent environmental avianologists,
Rick Taylor. Other speaks will be Helen Thayer and Jo Ann Loza. The menu is an easy guide to both local and festival
information, but no maps are provided.
