At the top of the world, in the Yukon and Alaska wilderness of northwestern North America, an epic winter sports event takes place every February, the Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race. Covering 1,000 miles between Whitehorse, Yukon and Fairbanks, Alaska during the depths of the Arctic winter, the Yukon Quest is known for excellence in canine care and fostering the traditions of northern travel by dog sled.

Plan to join us at the New George Horner Ice Park for our traditional Alaska celebration of spring at Ice Park from February 28 through March 25, 2012 In the meantime, we at Ice Alaska hope you have an ice day Ice Alaska is in its 23rd year hosting the largest annual ice art competitions and exhibitions worldwide. The Fairbanks event, the World Ice Art Championships, has grown to a month long attraction involving over 70 teams from all over the world. The competitions, and the accompanying kids park, attract more than 100 ice artists and approximately 45,000 visitors from Alaska and all over the world.

This 2 day festival is a celebration of Alaska’s wild seafood. There is a large emphasis on the culinary aspect, with the first day geared around a 5 course plated dinner with local and special guest chefs displaying their culinary expertise along with live music, entertainment, and contests. The next day is an all-day fair event starting with a parade, followed by outdoor entertainment, games, contests, food, cooking demonstrations, fishery tours, educational and entertainment booths, and lots of fun, ending with a concert with our headliner band soon-to-be-announced.
